Beautiful Blogger Blanket

Today I read about the Beautiful Blogger Blanket 2013. Last year crocheting bloggers made a beautiful blanket by each making a square (or a few!) and Jill put all the sqaures together making a truly beautiful blanket.

The deadline for the 2013 blanket was January 31st and I saw the post today - 1 day late....or so I thought, I was really happy to see that the deadline had been extended until Valentine's day which means that I could make a square and take part!

If anyone is interested in taking part you've still got time!

I used 15 grams of yarn for this square. I am weighing all of the yarn that I use now to take part in the stash buster challenge.

I've also had a bit of stash buster fail. I had a ball of baby yarn that I wanted to use so I started to make another dress like my christening dress to use it up. Everything was going well until I saw that there was not going to be enough yarn to finish it:

So, I'm going to have to buy more yarn to be able to finish it. That means by trying to destash I'm actually going to increase my stash! :)

Have a happy, crafty weekend!

  4. Your square is lovely. I know that feeling when you realize you don't have enough yarn to finish you project. I'm glad to know you can buy the same yarn. I had a few projects that I had to unravel because I couldn't find the same yarn.

  5. Beautiful dress and square! I thought I missed the blanket deadline - perhaps I can get a square made after all.

Lucky you to live in Spain - my husband's grandmother was from Barcelona and we've always wanted to visit that country.

    De-stashing is very difficult, isn't it? :)

  6. Hi Elisabeth, thankyou for following me!! I love the crochet square and the pretty flower! I need to start de-stashing my wool too, wool and fabric have a habit of just jumping right into by bags when I'm out (like to point out that I do pay for it hehe) I just can't seem to resist, but I do work in a Sewing Shop so I guess temptation is there! Beautiful christening dress. Karen x

I love your post right behind this current one - wow eating in a pub from the 1300's! Here in New Hampshire if something is 400 years old that's amazing! I would so love to visit places in England like that! *sigh* maybe someday...
Hugs and have a wonderfully creative week,

  15. Thank you for stopping by my blog, I hope you like the photography book. If you are still looking for a pom pom maker I recently bought one from ebay -it's really easy and quick to use and is made by a company called Clover - costs about £5. I made a little baby bobble hat using the pom pom maker if you want to see a photo its on my blog - think the post was called something like cute little hats! Good luck with your stash busting x
