Pink and purple

I haven't blogged or visited any blogs for a week but it feels like so much longer. I've been busy and I had a migraine attack which means I haven't been online much but today I'm going to spend as long as possible catching up with all my favourite blogs :)

But first here are some of my newest creations:

I'd got some cotton yarn left over from another project that I wanted to use up. It's a really pretty pink, purple and blue mix which matches with a lovely gift I got given for my birthday. Can you see the purple and pink hearts? They are chocolates attached to a cute photo frame which was a gift from a friend of mine (thank you Brunella!)

So with the left over yarn I made a flower

Which I'm using as a mug coaster:

And two flower brooches which, after I'd finished crocheting, I embellished with some rose quartz chips:

Apart from that I've been working on two CALs at the moment...

....because one just wouldn't be enough! They are both shawls, one is with a 4 ply sock yarn and  the other is a lace weight merino/silk blend.

  2. Hope the migraine went away. I also get migraines (once a month for 48 hours) and this week thankfully was not a strong one as I got also a severe conjunctivitis !!
Your brooches are gorgeous , I love pink quartz too. . . and the shawls are looking lovely.
I still have not finished mine, it is quick to make but when I only get 5 or 10 mins here and there it just takes longer. I'm in the last 6 rows now and I dont want to finish it, I'm enjoying it so much !
hope you are migraine free now. .
    Take Care,

  5. Oh, Elisabeth...I'm a migraine sufferer, too - I know that the days afterwards are those "shaky"/just not feeling right type of days - no need to worry about the internet. I feel for you, gal, and hope you're much better! The little purple flowers are delightful, and now TWO shawls at once - you truly ARE Supergirl! The fun gift from your friend probably helped the head, for sure. Here's to a migraine free rest of the month - XOXO Tanya

  6. I'm glad you're "on the mend" from your migraine. Hubby suffers with them so I know how debilitating they can be. Your crochet is lovely. I'm sure the shawls will be fabulous when you finish them.
    Blessing,
    Betsy

  11. So sorry you've been feeling rotten - my mum gets migraines and when she has one we all feel so helpless. They are just awful.

I completely failed to finish my last CAL. It didn't help that I fell out of love with the pattern half way through - so I am in the middle of frogging it and will make something else instead!

  17. So sorry to hear of your migraines Elisabeth - I experience them also but much less frequently and less severe these days, thankfully. I wish you well!
Your little projects are gorgeous - my colours too - I hope you show us the completed shawls - I'll look forward to that - the pattern looks tricky and probably needs a lot of concentration?
Enjoy your makings and take care of yourself. Joy x

  19. Hope you are feeling better now, Elisabeth. You shall take care of your health, and it is okay to be away from blogging for a while. I probably will take a break soon too.
You recent project very cute, I liked the brooches and the idea to embellish them with stone chips. Oh yes, why not to crochet 2 shawls along with each other? Great productivity! Also, what does "sock yarn" actually mean? We have here very nice colors of it, but they told it was only for socks..hmmm

  20. I haven't been online much either, haven't been blogging regularly and haven't been crocheting either. Must rectify all those things. :) Your projects are lovely. Hope the migraine has gone away. Those can really disrupt your days. Best wishes, Tammy
