All at sea shawl number 2, doily cardigan and some bavarian crochet

 Happy Autumn everyone!
I hope you've been enjoying these first few days of the season. Any day now I'll be able to start wearing my crochet shawls and I can't wait :) I love this time of year, autumn is my favourite season. What is yours and why?
I've made another version of my All at Sea Shawl from Simply Crochet 22:
This one was a gift for my mom in law and she loved it! She really liked the yarn I used. It's Premier Yarns Serenity Garden and the colour is called Crocus. It's a 5ply/sport weight yarn so it's bigger  and I only did two repeats of the pattern.

I've also finished my doily cardigan:

This was fun to make and so easy. I'll be making more of these, it's so simple to adapt a doily pattern to make it into a cardigan, just chain enough space to leave two arm holes and follow the rest of the pattern as it says.
I had a go using a new crochet technique this week too, Bavarian Crochet.

I used some of my cotton stash and made a holder for my phone to sit on when it's on my desk:

I love those colours together! So bright and cheerful :)
There is a really great tutorial by Crochet Geek on YouTube if you want to try out the stitch.
Have a happy Sunday!

Getting ready for Autumn and a Giveaway!

It's time for a September catch up...tomorrow marks the start of Autumn so this is my last post for summer 2014.
Remember when I started a quilt back in June? Well, this weekend I finished it!

I bought the kit as my summer Project and I sewed the quilt top pretty quickly but then I set it to one side during July and August, the I realised if it was going to be my summer Project I needed to get a move on and finish it.

What do you think?
Here is a collage of some of my favourite photos:

It's getting cooler here in Madrid now so any day soon I'll be able to use it for the first time :)
If you're interested in the patter you can find out more at This pattern is called the Scrappy Chevron Picnic quilt. The tutorial is great. This was my first quilt so I needed an easy to follow pattern that was also well explained and this one fit the bill perfectly!
I've started a crochet afghan too:

I am really enjoying those ripples. I'm using Caron Simply Soft yarn and it's so soft and snuggly. I can't wait to finish it and start using it!
Finally, if you follow me on Instagram you might have seen that I am having a giveaway.
This shawl is up for grabs:

It's made with my pattern `Dusky Fringe Shawl´ from Crochet! Magazine Autumn 2014. Stop by my instagram and take part in  my giveaway :) My username is: elizyart_crochet
Have a start to Autumn (or Spring depending on where in the world you are :) )tomorrow everyone!
